We love Durham and think it's pretty special. Durham is brimming with historical places and stories. It is home to 24 known cemeteries. We have the 2nd oldest Methodist Church in New England.
Durham was home to not one but two famous authors. We have a rich musical history. The bandstand still stands.
Housed in the Steeple of the Old Union Church there is a Revere Bell and the finest one-holer, in-house out-houses in Maine!

Durham was once alive with commerce, industries, celebrations and concerts. Residents and visitors alike entertained themselves at Durham’s racetrack or spent evenings dancing at the Sylvester Dance Pavillion.

Time hasn’t forgotten Durham, it has mostly left it alone. You can still visit the bandstand where the popular Tyler Brass Band played. The oldest building in Durham stands as a beautiful Inn. Thanks to the efforts of the Durham Cemetery Committee, you can still walk among Durham’s former residents. Agriculture runs strong in Durham with several local homesteads and farms.
